HI!
Welcome to WLC Super Honors! This blogsite is designed to allow you to converse via the web with your classmates about the books that you are reading. Only members of the class, which includes me, are able to write something on the blog, but anyone in the world can read it.

You need to begin blogging by July 15th and end by August 20th. You will write "posts" and "comments". Posts are original thoughts that you have on the novel that you chose; they are the beginning points of conversations. Comments are your responses to the posts of others or your response to a classmate's comment on yours or another's post. You may comment on a novel that you didi not read.

The posts:
To help you structure your online conversations, there are three types of posts that you need to make:
1. quote from the novel...Choose a quote, not necessarily something a character has said, that you find meaningful. Write the quote in the "title" space with the page number and author, and then explain what the quote means in the novel at the point it is found, what it means to the novel in general, what it means to you, and what does it mean to the world at large.

2. ask a question.. What question do you have about the novel which would start conversation? Place the question in the "title". Besure to clearly identify the novel that you are writingn about. Answer your question in your post. Citing from the novel is encouraged.

3. give advice... What advice would you give the protagonist? When? Why?

The comments:
You should comment at least 5 times between July 15 and August 20. Your comments may be to another post or to a comment on your post. Comments should be meaningful, your response or reaction to what is being presented. Generally, do you agree? disagree? why? What does the post make you think of? Comments that are solely "Good job." or "Interesting." do not further discussion and would not count towards the mandatory 5.

Your comments are to be meaningful and polite.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. I look forward to your discussions and to seeing you in August.
